ZRAY has added a dedicated takeaway paper lunch box forming machine to the food packaging line. Built on the same engineering platform as our Single-Piece Case Erector, it forms and seals paper lunch boxes at up to 30 pieces per minute for caterers, meal-kit producers, central kitchens and quick-service restaurant suppliers.

What the machine does

The machine takes flat, pre-creased paper lunch box blanks from the magazine, forms the body around a heated stainless mandrel, folds and seals the bottom, and discharges the finished box ready for hot or cold filling. The changeover from one blank size to another takes 8–12 minutes with recipes recalled from the HMI, so a kitchen running three lunch box SKUs in a day does not lose a shift to setup.

Fit for food service

• Food-contact construction. Forming surface is stainless or anodized aluminum; no exposed fasteners or dead zones where product residue can collect. Electricals are IP54 as standard for washdown areas.
• Coated paper friendly. The heated mandrel and PID temperature loop hold steady sealing temperature across the coated layer, which is where cheap formers fail — they scorch PE-lined blanks or under-seal PLA-coated ones.
• Low micro-stoppage. A photo-eye at the magazine detects mis-feeds before they jam the mandrel, and the low jamming rate keeps the line close to rated output on a full shift.
• One operator. Loading blanks and topping the magazine takes one person; at 30 PPM the machine replaces roughly two manual forming stations.

Board and blank specification

The machine accepts food-grade paperboard and coated stock from 200–400 gsm in the box size range above. For biodegradable or PLA-coated blanks, tell us at the inquiry stage — the temperature profile and dwell time are tuned per coating to avoid scorching. PE-lined blanks, by contrast, seal at the lower end of the 120–180 °C range. We verify your exact blank during FAT using your own samples.
