ZRAY Launches Food-Grade Paper Box Forming Machine Line (60–120 pcs/min, 304 SS, EU 10/2011) for Burger, Lunch & Fast-Food Packaging | ZRAY

September 19, 2026

Fast-food and takeaway packaging lives or dies on two things: it must look clean on the shelf and it must be safe to touch food. A forming line that sheds paper dust, uses non-food adhesive or traps crumbs in dead corners fails both. ZRAY’s new food-grade paper box forming line is built for burger boxes, lunch boxes and fast-food takeaway containers at 60–120 pieces per minute, with every product-contact surface in 304 stainless steel and every adhesive qualified to EU 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR 175.105. The line is engineered so a food-safety auditor sees no hidden surface and no non-compliant material.

Food-Contact Compliance

Item Requirement
Board grade Food-grade paperboard 200–450 g/m²
EU regulation EU 10/2011
US regulation FDA 21 CFR 175.105
China regulation GB 4806 series
Hot-melt adhesive Food-grade (Henkel Technomelt class)
Lubrication H1 food-grade grease only

Forming Model Range

Product Forming method Speed
Burger box Wrap-fold + lock-tab 90–120 pcs/min
Lunch box (2–3 compartment) Deep-draw + side wall 60–90 pcs/min
Fast-food takeaway box Crash-lock bottom 80–110 pcs/min

All three share a frame and servo kinematics, so a plant runs mixed SKUs on one line.

Hygiene Design

Product-contact parts are 304 stainless steel with rounded, fully welded seams and no dead corners where crumbs or paper dust collect. Panels are built for washdown and the forming tunnel stays clear of horizontal ledges. Bearings in the food zone use H1 food-grade grease and the air system has a fine filter to stop oil mist on the board.

Quick-Change Moulds

Moulds are numbered and racked; a full product change takes 8–15 minutes on quick-release tooling. Each mould carries a stamped ID, so the HMI recipe and physical tooling always match, removing the risk of the wrong emboss or fold geometry.

No-Contamination Operation

Operators follow a documented SOP — hairnets and gloves at the infeed, no eating or drinking on the line, verified end-of-shift cleaning. The checklist below is part of the line’s HACCP record.

Step Task
1 Remove board scrap and dust from magazine
2 Wipe 304 contact surfaces with approved sanitizer
3 Vacuum forming tunnel
4 Inspect seals and dead corners
5 Log cleaning in HACCP sheet

Integration with Downstream Equipment

The former discharges upright boxes to an inline capper, labeller and bagging unit, sealing and coding the filled box with no manual hand-off. For rigid-lid formats, pair the line with our Rigid Box Capping Machine. The full range of compatible machines is on our Products page.

Preventive Maintenance Schedule

Interval Tasks
Daily Clean contact surfaces; empty dust bin; check air filter; verify H1 grease points
Weekly Sanitize tunnel; inspect mould IDs; check belt tracking; lubricate guides
Monthly Replace air filter; torque frame; calibrate fold fingers; review HACCP log
Quarterly Deep clean and passivate 304; replace wear strips; verify speeds
Annually Full strip-down; replace bearings; re-level; audit food-contact list

Field Alarm Codes

Code Description Field action

AL-04 Forming jam Clear jam, re-set platen to board + 0.5 mm
AL-06 Flap not closed Adjust compression roller 15–20 N
AL-09 Air pressure low Check FRL, drain moisture
