ALMATY, Kazakhstan, July 28, 2026 — Zray has successfully delivered and commissioned six ZCF-T series three-piece carton forming machines at a major food packaging factory in Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking the facility’s full transition to automated carton assembly for its dry goods and confectionery packaging lines. The installation, completed over a 14-day commissioning period, has entered mass production with a combined output capacity of 180 cartons per minute across all six units.

The ZCF-T series three-piece forming machines handle the simultaneous forming of bottom tray,
side walls, and lid components, assembling complete rigid cartons from pre-scored corrugated
board sheets. Each unit operates at a rated speed of 30 cartons per minute for standard
sizes and 22 cartons per minute for the larger format cartons used in bulk confectionery
packaging. The machines accommodate carton dimensions ranging from 200×150×80 mm to
600×400×250 mm, covering the factory’s entire product portfolio of 42 SKUs.

The Almaty food packaging facility processes approximately 12 million cartons annually for
domestic distribution and export to neighboring Central Asian markets. Prior to the Zray
installation, the factory relied on a combination of two older semi-automatic forming
machines and manual assembly stations, creating a production bottleneck during peak
seasonal demand. The new automated line eliminates this constraint while reducing
material waste from forming defects by an estimated 8%, based on initial production data.

Each machine in the installation features a PLC-controlled synchronized motion system
coordinating the three forming stations, a hot-melt glue application system with
independent temperature control for each nozzle, and integrated quality inspection
modules that verify carton dimensional accuracy at the discharge conveyor. The
control architecture is built on Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 PLCs with HMI touch panels
providing real-time production metrics and fault diagnostics in both Russian and English.

Zray has established a spare parts depot in Almaty with inventory covering critical
wear components, including forming dies, suction cups, and glue nozzles. Two Zray
service engineers conducted on-site operator training in Kazakh and Russian,
certifying nine factory technicians on machine operation, routine maintenance, and
basic troubleshooting procedures.
