SHANGHAI, China, April 20, 2026 — Zray has completed a major expansion of its Shanghai production workshop, increasing total manufacturing floor area from 2,800 square meters to 4,500 square meters and adding dedicated assembly lines for the company’s high-demand ZCF-DH double-head carton forming machine series. The expansion, representing a capital investment of approximately RMB 8.5 million, increases Zray’s annual production capacity from an estimated 180 units to 300 units across all machine types.

The expanded facility features three newly configured production zones. Zone A is designated for double-head high-speed former assembly, with two parallel production lines capable of accommodating six machines simultaneously, equipped with overhead crane coverage and dedicated electrical testing stations for each assembly bay. Zone B consolidates single-piece and three-piece forming machine production, with standardized assembly workstations and tooling carts that enable rapid changeover between model variants. Zone C is a new dedicated quality assurance center housing a coordinate measuring machine for dimensional verification of machined components, a climate-controlled electrical test laboratory, and a full-machine cycling test bay where completed machines undergo a minimum 8-hour continuous run before shipment clearance.

The expansion also addresses workforce capacity, with the production team growing from 42 to 68 personnel. Fifteen of the 26 new positions are skilled assembly technicians and electrical panel builders, recruited through partnerships with two Shanghai-area vocational training institutes. Zray invested approximately 1,200 person-hours in training for the expanded workforce, covering machine assembly procedures, electrical safety standards, quality inspection protocols, and the company’s ISO 9001:2015 quality management system documentation requirements.

The production expansion is directly linked to Zray’s growing order book, which at the time of the workshop completion stood at 47 confirmed machine orders — a 35% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. The breakdown of the order backlog reflects the company’s market focus: 22 machines destined for CIS markets, 16 for the European Union, and 9 for domestic Chinese and other Asian customers.

“We reached a point where our production capacity was becoming a constraint on our commercial growth,” said Mr. Wang Jun, Zray’s Engineering Director. “The workshop expansion is not simply about more space — it is about creating a production environment that matches the quality expectations of our export customers while providing the throughput to meet delivery commitments without compromising assembly standards. The dedicated double-head line, in particular, addresses a bottleneck that previously limited our ability to accept large-volume orders for our fastest-selling product.”

The expanded facility was designed and constructed over a five-month period within Zray’s existing industrial park location, minimizing disruption to ongoing production. The company has reserved an additional 1,200 square meters of adjacent space for potential future expansion if demand growth continues at current rates.
