Six-machine Integrated Line Passes Full Production Trial at Coastal Manufacturing Facility, Serving Export Packaging Demands

Zray Machinery has completed on-site acceptance testing for a six-machine integrated carton forming production line installed at a domestic export-oriented manufacturing facility in China’s coastal industrial belt. The line, which combines high-speed forming, automatic stacking, and inline quality inspection, successfully passed a three-day continuous production trial under the supervision of the customer’s quality assurance team and third-party inspection representatives.

The export-oriented factory produces corrugated cartons for consumer electronics, home appliances, and automotive parts destined for markets in Europe and North America. Packaging quality requirements from its overseas buyers are notably stringent, with specific tolerances on carton dimensional accuracy, crease definition, and glue-bond integrity enforced through regular incoming quality audits. The decision to invest in a fully integrated Zray forming line was driven by the need to meet these quality standards consistently while increasing throughput to support growing export volumes.

Acceptance Protocol and Performance Metrics

The acceptance testing protocol was defined jointly by Zray and the customer’s engineering team prior to equipment delivery, with specific pass-fail criteria documented in the project technical specification. Key performance indicators included carton dimensional tolerance of plus-or-minus 1.0 millimeter across all forming stations, glue-bond peel strength exceeding 150 Newtons per 25-millimeter test strip, and overall system availability above 95 percent during the trial period. An independent third-party inspection agency was engaged to witness the trial and verify reported data.

Each machine in the line underwent individual commissioning followed by integrated line testing. The four high-speed formers were configured for the customer’s highest-volume carton formats, which account for approximately 70 percent of total output, while the two specialty-format units handle less common carton dimensions that previously required manual assembly. The inline vision inspection system, integrated at the exit of each forming station, captures high-resolution images of every carton and algorithms developed by Zray’s automation team to compare crease geometry, glue application patterns, and overall dimensions against reference templates.

The factory’s production manager reported that the new line has already reduced carton rejection rates by approximately 60 percent compared to the previous semi-automated setup, while increasing throughput by an estimated 45 percent. Training for the factory’s machine operators and maintenance technicians was completed during the commissioning period, and a comprehensive spare parts inventory has been established on-site to support ongoing operations. Zray has committed to a six-month post-acceptance support period including quarterly preventive maintenance visits.
