New Anti-blocking Structure Patent Approved for Our Full Series Carton Forming Machine Products
SHANGHAI, China, July 10, 2026 — Zray has been granted a utility model patent by the China National Intellectual Property Administration for an innovative anti-blocking structure designed for application across the company’s full series of carton forming machines. Patent No. ZL 2026 2 0157842.3 covers a multi-stage sheet separation and feeding mechanism that significantly reduces the incidence of paper jam events during high-speed carton forming operations involving corrugated board of varying quality grades.
The patented anti-blocking structure addresses a persistent challenge in carton forming machinery: the tendency of warped, inconsistently scored, or high-moisture corrugated sheets to misfeed or jam at the separation and transfer stages. Zray’s engineering team developed a three-stage solution comprising an adjustable pre-separation air knife system that breaks initial sheet adhesion in the magazine stack, a dual-sensor sheet detection array that verifies single-sheet pickup before transfer, and a dynamic vacuum gripper compensation mechanism that adjusts suction force in real time based on board surface characteristics detected by the feed sensors.
Laboratory testing conducted during the patent development process demonstrated a 72% reduction in sheet mis-feed events across a test batch of 10,000 sheets of B-flute and BC-flute corrugated board with deliberately introduced warpage and moisture content variations. Field testing at three customer sites over a cumulative 2,400 operating hours confirmed a 65% average reduction in forming stoppages attributable to sheet feeding issues compared to the previous-generation feeding mechanism.

The patented mechanism has been designed as a modular upgrade that can be retrofitted to existing ZCF-S and ZCF-DH series machines manufactured since 2024, as well as integrated into all new production units. The retrofit kit includes replacement feed table components, updated sensor arrays, a firmware upgrade for the PLC control module, and a calibration procedure document. Zray estimates that approximately 120 machines currently operating in the field are eligible for the retrofit.
“This patent represents a significant engineering investment focused on a problem that every carton forming machine operator has experienced,” said Mr. Wang Jun, Zray’s Engineering Director. “Paper jam events are not merely a nuisance — they cause production downtime, generate waste material, and in worst cases can damage machine components. Our anti-blocking innovation tackles the root causes of sheet mis-feed across the entire separation and transfer sequence, and the test results give us confidence that it delivers meaningful reliability improvements for real-world operating conditions.”
Zray plans to file corresponding patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty within the 12-month priority period, seeking protection in key export markets including Russia, the European Union, and Eurasian Economic Union member states. The company currently holds 8 active patents related to carton forming machinery, with an additional 3 applications under review.
