After-sales Remote Support System Updated for Global Carton Forming Machine End-users
Zray Deploys Enhanced Diagnostic Platform to Reduce Downtime and Improve Service Response Across International Installations
Zray Machinery has rolled out a comprehensive update to its after-sales remote support system, designed specifically to serve the growing global installed base of its carton forming equipment. The updated platform, which integrates secure remote diagnostic capabilities with a multilingual service interface, aims to reduce average machine downtime and shorten the time-to-resolution for technical issues encountered by end-users operating in different time zones.
The initiative was driven by feedback collected over an eighteen-month period from Zray’s network of regional distributors and direct-service customers across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. A recurring challenge identified in the feedback was the difficulty of providing timely technical support to facilities without on-site engineering staff available around the clock. The updated remote support system addresses this gap by enabling Zray’s central service team to perform real-time diagnostic analysis, parameter verification, and guided troubleshooting — all through an encrypted remote connection initiated only with explicit end-user authorization.

- Secure VPN-based remote connection requires two-factor authentication from the end-user before access is granted
- Integrated multi-language interface supports English, Chinese, Spanish, and Arabic with additional languages in development
- Real-time PLC diagnostic data visualization allows service engineers to pinpoint faults without on-site visits
- Structured fault-code database enables faster identification of recurring issues across the installed base
- Average response time for remote support tickets reduced by 40 percent during the pilot phase
“Many of our overseas customers operate production shifts that fall outside our local office hours. The updated remote support capability means we can now provide experienced technical assistance without delay, regardless of geography,” explained Zray’s after-sales service manager. “In one pilot case, a carton forming line in Southeast Asia was brought back to full production within ninety minutes of a remote support request being filed.”
The technical architecture of the updated system centers on a cloud-based service platform that interfaces with the machine’s PLC controller through a dedicated industrial IoT gateway. This gateway continuously monitors key operational parameters — including servo drive status, pneumatic system pressure, forming cycle timing, and safety circuit integrity — and transmits diagnostic data to the service platform during an active support session. Machine operators initiate a remote support request through a touchscreen interface on the HMI panel, which generates a unique session identifier that service engineers use to establish the diagnostic connection.
Proactive Maintenance Capabilities
Beyond reactive troubleshooting, the updated platform introduces predictive maintenance alerts based on trend analysis of accumulated operational data. By tracking parameters such as cycle-count progression, vacuum system performance over time, and mechanical wear indicators, the system can flag potential issues before they result in unplanned downtime. This capability is particularly valuable for high-volume production environments where unscheduled stoppages carry significant cost implications.
Zray has also restructured its service ticketing workflow to integrate with the remote support platform, creating a unified record of each machine’s service history that includes diagnostic logs, parts replacement records, and resolution notes. This consolidated service record supports both warranty management and long-term reliability analysis for individual machines and broader product families. The company reports that end-user satisfaction scores have improved measurably since the system update was deployed across the active installed base.
