ZRAY Unveils Specialized Automatic Case Erector (40 CPM, 24,000 Bottles/h Line Match) for High-Speed Beverage Bottle Canning Lines | ZRAY
A beverage canning line filling 24,000 bottles per hour empties a case erector faster than most machines can keep up, and a single misfed blank at 85% humidity sends sticky, sugar-coated cartons into a downstream case packer. ZRAY’s specialised automatic case erector — the ZR-40H beverage build — runs 40 cartons per minute, matches a 24,000-bottle-per-hour filler with a 15% speed margin, and is built to survive the rinse, sugar residue and wet floor of a drink plant.
Line-Rate Matching
| Filler rate | Cases needed/min | Erector speed | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24,000 bottles/h (12/case) | 33.3 cases/min | 40 CPM | 15% headroom |
| 36,000 bottles/h | 50 cases/min | dual ZR-40H | parallel cell |
One ZR-40H covers a 24,000-bottle/h line with comfortable slack; above that, a mirrored second head or the Double-Head High-Speed Case Former keeps pace without adding floor space.
Beverage-Specific Build
- 304 stainless key parts — frame, tape head and forming plate resist the CIP rinse and sugar corrosion.
- Moisture-resistant tape and anti-slip feet — grip holds on a wet, slippery floor.
- Lint-free construction — no paper-backed wear strips, so no fibre contaminates the clean side.
- Four-corner hot-melt + tape composite seal — the bottom stays closed through condensation and cold-chain shock.

Beverage-Specific Alarm Codes
| Code | Description | Typical cause | Field action |
|---|---|---|---|
| AL-05 | Tape peels (damp) | Humid tape, sugar film | Swap to moisture tape, clean head |
| AL-06 | Bottom flap open | Carton deformed by humidity | Re-square magazine, raise compression |
| AL-09 | Air pressure swings | Wet FRL, condensation | Drain trap, fit 316 bowl |
| AL-02 | Magazine empty | High consumption | Reload; check Material Request |
| AL-08 | Conveyor overload | Packer backup | Clear jam, verify buffer |
Linkage with Palletiser and Wrapper
The erector buffers 3–5 cases on its outfeed and reports Buffer Full to the case packer, so a wrapper or palletiser stop never starves the filler. Blockage detection at the packer hand-off triggers AL-08 before the magazine empties. A coding interface — inkjet or laser — is wired to the HMI so each case is marked before the packer closes it.
CIP Rinse Check List
After a CIP cycle: drain the FRL, dry the tape head, verify IP seals, reseat the inkjet/laser mark interface, and run 10 empty cycles to confirm flaps seat. Skipping the dry step is the usual cause of AL-05 peel on the Monday shift.
Preventive Maintenance
| Interval | Tasks |
|---|---|
| Daily | Drain FRL; wipe sugar residue; verify 0.5–0.6 MPa; test E-stop |
| Weekly | Clean tape head; check anti-slip feet; inspect seals |
| Monthly | Replace vacuum filter; grease lube points; torque bolts |
| Quarterly | Replace cups; verify hot-melt nozzles; grease gearbox |
| Annually | Change gearbox oil; insulation-test panel; full gasket set |
