ZRAY has upgraded its automatic case erector line with an integrated bottom tape sealer option, bringing single-machine erecting plus bottom tape sealing to a sustained up to 40 CPM on beverage, food, and e-commerce lines. The upgrade removes a separate taping machine from the floor plan and cuts the transfer gap between erector and sealer — the spot where boxes tip, hang up, or double-feed.

What Changed in the Upgrade

• Bottom flap folding + tape application in one frame. The integrated sealer folds the two bottom minor flaps, applies a C-clip of tape across the major-flap seam, and wipes it down — all inside the machine cycle, no transfer conveyor between stations.
• Auto tape-end detection and a quick-load tape carriage. Tape splicing takes under 2 minutes; the machine faults with a clear code instead of running tape-less boxes onto the line.
• Tape width flexibility. Runs 48 mm, 60 mm, and 75 mm tape widths on the same head by swapping the tape guide and roller set.
• Hot-melt glue remains available. The bottom tape sealer is a selectable option; the same base platform still ships with hot-melt bottom sealing for board grades and cold-chain applications where tape is not preferred.

The machine detects a missing tape roll, a tape break, or an unfinished C-clip via the tape-head sensor and stops with a fault code — no unsealed boxes leave the machine.

• E-commerce and multi-SKU lines where tape must hold across variable box weights and transit handling.
• Beverage and food lines at 30-40 CPM that want one machine, one footprint, and one operator instead of an erector plus a separate case sealer.
• Operations that use recycled or high-moisture board, where hot-melt adhesion can be inconsistent and a reinforced tape C-clip is more predictable.
• Cold-chain and chilled packaging where tape performs better than glue below 10°C.

For the sealer to hold on heavy freight, tape type matters: use polypropylene film tape 40-60 gsm with a rubber-based adhesive for corrugated contact, and keep tape stored at 15-25°C so the adhesive does not stiffen.

The upgraded platform shares the same Siemens PLC, SMC pneumatics, and 12-month warranty as the rest of the ZRAY case erector family, so your maintenance team already knows the alarm codes and service intervals. Remote diagnostics via the PLC log are included.
